We must never despair; our situation has been compromising before, and it has changed for the better; so I trust it will again. If difficulties arise, we must put forth new exertion and proportion our efforts to the exigencies of the times.
Diseases can be our spiritual flat tires — disruptions in our lives that seem to be disasters at the time, but end by redirecting our lives in a meaningful way.
There are no mistakes. The events we bring upon ourselves, no matter how unpleasant, are necessary in order to learn what we need to learn; whatever steps we take, they’re necessary to reach the places we’ve chosen to go.
When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, ’til it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.
